Tosha received her Master's Degree from the University of Central Arkansas in 2012 and is a Licensed Professional Therapist. Tosha is nationally certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, a Certified Sexual Offender Treatment Provider, an LAC Supervisor, and can utilize Technology-Assisted Counseling. She is trained in treating a variety of mental health difficulties, including but not limited to - anger, anxiety, grief, depression, and adjustment issues. Tosha has years of experience working with children with significant behavioral issues and assisting their families with managing these behaviors at home. Her primary position is as therapist in the CLIMB intensive program for the 1st through 4th graders. Tosha uses a client centered approach, along with using techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, and Reality Therapy. Tosha has been trained in Brainspotting, a form of therapy that locates points in the client's visual field that help to access unprocessed trauma in the subcortical brain. This allows those who have difficulties with verbally discussing their trauma to process without the use of traditional talk therapy. Tosha is the organization's Crisis Prevention Intervention instructor and trains staff members on ways to verbally de-escalate crisis situations and teaches how (and when) to utilize both non-restrictive and restrictive interventions. She will work with you to formulate a plan that can best assist you with reaching your treatment goals. Tosha was born and raised in Arkansas and some of her favorite things include spending time with her son and husband, horror movie marathons, spending time outdoors, and loudly (and poorly) singing on long car rides!
