EMDR Therapy

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) It is a form of therapy that helps people heal from trauma or other distressing life experiences.

EMDR therapy helps children and adults of all ages. Our therapists use EMDR with a wide range of challenges, including, but not limited to, sexual assault, PTSD, pain, panic attacks, violence and abuse. Most people gain remarkable, life-changing success in 12 to 20 sessions.

OBHAW currently has three licensed counselors who have gone through the intensive EMDR training and are currently in the process of being certified in EMDR treatment.

Pre-Bariatric Psychological Evaluations | Ouachita Behavioral Health and Wellness

Pre-Bariatric Psychological Evaluations

Pre-Bariatric Psychological Evaluations

Pre Bariatric psychological evaluations are usually required by your surgeon and your insurance company.

Most surgeons recognize that weight loss surgery is not only a medical issue, but also a life-changing event. Your surgeon wants to make sure that you are emotionally ready for the surgery and that you understand the surgery risks and outcomes and have the support needed to make lifestyle and behavioral changes after surgery.

An evaluation ensures that you are: Able to make such a decision, understand the consequences of your decision, and have no underlying psychological conditions that would prohibit you from adhering to the life changes that are required following surgery

Opioid Abuse Treatment Program

Opioid Abuse Treatment Program

If you or someone you love is suffering from opiate addiction, a Medication-Assisted Treatment with Suboxone Program may be the best route to recovery.

We at OBHAW know how difficult the decision to begin a life of recovery can be. Engaging in treatment requires strength, courage, and willingness to change (or at least willing to consider changing).

You will begin with a brief initial evaluation done by a licensed therapist; this is to determine if our program is the best fit for you. You will meet with the doctor to begin an individualized medication regimen. We facilitate the transition between a life of chemical dependency and mental illness into a life of healing and recovery in a supportive, compassionate and seamless way.
