Forensic Outpatient Restoration Program

Community-based restoration services that empower individuals to heal, stabilize, and move forward with confidence.

Ouachita Behavioral Health and Wellness' Forensic Outpatient Restoration Program (FORP) is a specialized program designed by the court system to help individuals who have been found incompetent to stand trial (IST) regain the psychological, cognitive, and behavioral abilities needed to participate meaningfully in their legal proceedings. The program provides this restoration in the least restrictive setting possible, allowing clients to receive treatment while living in the community rather than in a hospital or jail whenever appropriate and safe.

Over the past year (FY25), FORP served 55 clients, with 48 successfully completing the program. The majority of these individuals achieved legal restoration or transitioned through a successful jail diversion plan. For those who did not complete restoration, significant progress was made in improving mental health and overall functioning, enabling them to leave jail and continue treatment in other appropriate settings.
